The Preparations Begin

Hey, guys. Yes, another blog. heheh If any of you guys know me and my google account, you know that I am the owner of several blogs already. This one is different, however.  At this point in my life, I have started to truly step out into the world as a Believer in Christ, wanting to live my life for Him and not me. I will be graduating from highschool within a few months, and after that, I will enter the world of Singleness. heheh  I will be free to do whatever I choose, but, instead of going out and enjoying life in ways the world may see fit for me, I choose to instead focus on spending these next years (however long they may be) of singleness living for Christ. There is no better time for me to learn more about my Eternal Savior and Lover, than now. I will have so much time that I can spend serving Him, serving others, growing in my faith, and so much more, and I am truly excited about it. :)
The official beginning of this adventure, I like to hope, will be when I graduate from highschool on 6/2/12, and leave shortly after, for Japan (Nihon).   Why Japan? Well, that I am still trying to figure out. I've always been fascinated with Asia, the different lifestyles and cultures, languages, and everything else. Last January (2011), a pastor from Japan came to our church (http://www.covlife.org/blog/michael_oh_how_to_pray) and talked with us about living there as a Christian. A few months later, Japan was hit with extreme earthquakes and a crazy tsunami which devastated so much of the area, killing many, leaving many homeless, and changing much of their lifestyle.     In June, I started getting interested in doing missions trips, so I began to research on those. I kept seeing Japan mentioned on the lists, and it started to pull on my heart. I asked my youth pastor about a possible trip to Japan, and, though our church wasn't going to be doing any in the next year, he suggested I search various other churches and organizations for one. After finding several and reading the details on those, however, I realized that I didn't just want to do a couple-week trip. I wanted to go for as long as possible, where my skills and service could be used in the best ways to help the people over there. My friend lived in Japan for a couple years teaching English, gave me a few links, and through those, I got connected with a church in Kawasaki-shi, Japan, called PazJapan (http://www.pazjapan.org/). The leaders of that church (Tim and Christine Huber) were more than happy to hear that I wanted to go out there, and since then, we have been communicating often, and I have been filling out paperwork (applications and such) and researching for the trip. <3
This blog is going to be used for updating you all on how the planning is going, giving information, perhaps asking for prayer and support, etc. etc., and when (Lord-willing) I am in Japan, I will keep you guys updated on how things are over there in the beautiful Nihon.

Thanks for reading by, and please stop by often for updates!
